Seniors Support Services has opportunities for building managers and owners to further promote their housing opportunities. One opportunity is through advertising in our Society Newsletter. Each year the Seniors Service Society produces and distributes 3 newsletters which are sent to its over 1000 members, individual older adults, seniors serving organizations and associations. Our Newsletter lands in private homes and in the offices and waiting rooms of service providers where it is often posted or made available to clients. In 2009 we circulated over 1500 Newsletters. Copies of the newsletter are also made available at trade shows and events that the Seniors Services Society participates in. Contact our office for information on advertising rates.
Another opportunity to promote your housing is to place a link from your homepage to our Society’s webpage. Check our Seniors Housing Directory of BC to ensure your building information is current. This very user friendly searchable directory receives on average over 18,000 monthly hits on individual building details.
In partnership with Vancouver Coastal Health and the United Way of the Lower Mainland, we offer workshops to the staff and providers of seniors housing to equip them with the knowledge and tools necessary to ensure that their buildings are seniors friendly. We are able to facilitate workshops on a variety of topics including normal aging and Alzheimers, tenants who have hoarding issues, mediation between tenants and how to make your building more older adult friendly. For more information or to register for upcoming workshops please contact Seniors Services Society at 604-520-6621 or .
